Abstract
The paper makes an analysis of reasons why some students become unsuccessful English learners in Middle Schools. First it make a list of the major problems that unsuccessful English learners encounter. They are attitude problems the lack of studying strategies and improper influence from school, family and society. Then, some strategies are provided for the purpose of helping those unsuccessful English learners: show respect and love, stir up a learning motive, applying proper teaching method are be provided. Finally, it is concluded with internal and external causes of the phenomenon. It also points out new ways of helping unsuccessful English learners are needed to be explored.
