Abstract
This dissertation is going to analyze teaching methods used by an excellent junior school teacher XM. The dissertation, basing on factors that affect junior students’ English learning and related theories, aims to analyze XM’s methods to improve students’ abilities in aspects of learning motivation, self-efficacy ability, and learning strategy. And useful suggestions about effective teaching are provided for other teachers so that teachers are able to arose students’ intention, improve their self-efficacy, help students form suitable learning strategies and improve their metacognitive ability. In this study, literature survey and investigation will be mainly used. There are two shortcomings in this study. The first is that the conclusions may not apply to all of English teachers. The second is the four aspects of students’ abilities that the teacher XM develop and improve are classified by the researcher. So, the results cannot guarantee the objectivity completely.
