Abstract
The thesis is a study on the translation of film title from the perspective of cross-culture. It analyzes the current situation and the influential factors in film title translation. Various linguistic devices and abundant cultural connotations have been used to express its content and style, so as to achieve the purpose of attracting audience. Translator need to know the background information of English language and the differences between Chinese and English cultures. Through probing into the cultural differences, the paper introduces some translation techniques, such as: transcription, literal translation, paraphrase, so as to present the characteristics and connotation of the film and promote the cultural exchange of the movies worldwide.
