Abstract
With China's economic globalization and international communication increasing frequently, English learners' language application ability and communication skills have attracted the attention of language scholars and teachers. Language transfer is one of the common phenomena in the process of foreign language learning. “Language transfer can be divided into two types: positive transfer and negative transfer.” Positive transfer will promote language learners' foreign language learning but negative transfer will hinder learners' foreign language study. This thesis selects the impact of negative transfer on English vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and syntax in study, to show that language transfer has a great influence on the second language learners' English learning, but through well planning phases of teaching, strengthening the syntactic training, fostering students' English thinking ability and learning strategy, also the learning attitude can be improved, so they can gradually overcome the negative transfer of mother tongue in English learning and finally get to the goal of improving their English learning ability.
