Abstract
Reading plays a very important role in English learning, but it has always been the weakest part for students in technician colleges. TBLT is a practical teaching method that changed the center of teaching from teachers to students. It not only can arouse students’ interest in learning but also can develop students’ language competence and communication skills. On the basis of TBLT, the author makes research in two classes. Throughout the data analysis of questionnaire and tests scores between two classes, it proves that task-based approach can improve students’ reading scores more than traditional five-step teaching method to some extent.
