Abstract:Jane Eyre is the masterpiece of Charlotte Bronte who was one of the famous British novelists in 19th century. The novel is loved by readers for its particular theme and its lyric style since it had published. Jane Eyre was not only the famous works of a female novelist in 19th century but also represented the awakening of feminism at that time. It is regarded as the representative work by the feminist. And this article interprets Jane Eyre with feministic thoughts. In this article, it briefly introduce the background, the content and significance of Jane Eyre and the feminism. The Chapter one describes Jane's living environment and her conscientiousness of revolt in her childhood and then discuss the reason why Jane's special personality formed. After that the Chapter two expounds the Jane's experience in Lowood and the two women-Helen and Miss Temple who were important to her. And she finally formed her own self-esteem, independence personality in Lowood. Then the Chapter three interprets the most splendid part in this novel—The reflection of Jane's personality in Thornfield and her love with Mr. Rochester, and then discusses Jane's pursuit of equality and freedom. Finally, the conclusion summarizes the theme of the whole paper. Key words: Feminism, Independence, Equality, Jane Eyre
