Abstract
As we all know a good beginning is half done. Leading-in is the first part and is also the most basic procedure of the English teaching process. Although leading-in only lasts 5-6 minutes in English classroom teaching, it still plays a very important role. The most successful leading-in strategies can vivify the atmosphere of the English teaching classroom, inspire the learning interest and the learning motivation of the students, make the students study much more actively and devote themselves into the classroom activities in a better state. However, it has always been a big problem for most senior high school English teachers to use leading-in strategies properly and effectively. Thus this paper presents theoretical bases of leading-in in senior high school and mainly explores the specific use of leading-in in senior high school English classroom teaching.
