Abstract
In recent years, China’s film industry has developed rapidly, and especially the films introduced from Western countries have become the love of many young people. Therefore, the part of film title translation in the translation filed has become increasingly important. From the perspective of skopos theory, the first principle of translation is the principle of purpose. The purpose of translation determines the whole process and results of translation (Nord 25). The specific translation purpose of the film title determines the uniqueness of its translation. Film title is a special style of language and the translation of film title is a purposeful activity. This thesis will first give a brief introduction of the core of framework and the concept of the theory. And then through the teleology analysis of some cases of the film title translation,getting the conclusion that the title of the translation is a purposeful behavioral activities, and has the meaning of cross-cultural communication. And then bringing up some feasible strategies and techniques from the perspective of skopos theory, including literal translation, transliteration and creative translation and putting forward some suggestions on the translation of the film title.
