ABSTRACT
With the development of new English curriculum reform and the implementation of “reducing burdens and increasing efficiency” in junior high school, excessive homework can not adapt to the improvement of present education any longer. As an important part of teaching process, homework of appropriate amount is conducive to students’ consolidation and grasp of knowledge learned in school. Therefore, how to design effective homework which can lighten learning burdens and improve education has become the important part of English education. Under the context of reducing burdens and increasing efficiency, this essay aims at exploring ways to design effective homework for junior high school students to arouse their interest in English learning and improve English teaching quality.
