Abstract: Under the background of the globalization of the economy, the cooperation and exchanges of politics, economy and culture between China and other countries are increasing rapidly. It is widely acknowledged that oral English serves as an important and effective tool in English communication. But many college students fail to speak English correctly; they inevitably commit the errors in their spoken English. This paper studies the types and sources of oral errors made by college students. Based on the interlanguage and error analysis theory, the author selects some representative error samples and divides them into 4 types as follows: phoneme, lexicon, grammar and pragmatics. By analyzing these interlanguage errors, some causes of errors are explored, including errors that are caused by intralingual transfer, by the interference of the mother tongue, by communication strategies or induced by the misinterpretation. In the light of these sources of errors, this paper attempts to propose several practical and feasible suggestions to improve college students’ spoken English. Some effective methods are put forward in the English teaching and learning, including situational teaching, cultivating English thinking pattern, feedbacks and correction. 摘要:在经济全球化的背景下,中国与其他国家之间的经济、政治、文化的合作与交流日益频繁。众所周知,英语口语是一门重要、有效的交流工具。但是许多大学生说英语不是很得体,不可避免地,在用英语交流时会犯口语错误。 于是,这篇论文致力于研究大学生所犯错误的类型及原因。在中介语和错误分析的理论指导之下,作者选择了有代表性的错误样本并将其按照语音,词汇,语法和语用来分成了四大类。 在分析了这些中介语错误之后,发现了一些导致口语错误产生的原因。其中包括语内迁移引起的错误,母语干扰下的错误,使用交际策略产生的错误以及诱导错误。 针对这些错误原因,文中尝试性地从英语教学的角度,提出了一些切实可行的建议来提高大学生的口语,包括语境教学,培养英语思维方式,信息反馈和错误改正。 关键词:英语口语;错误分析;中介语;大学生
