Abstract:As a tourism country, China has innumerable sights of gorgeous and varied natural scenery. The natural, cultural and historic sceneries have attracted many tourists from abroad. Therefore, translation of tourism materials plays an important role in the tourism industry. In order to attract foreign visitors and boost Chinese culture and economy, English translation of tourism materials should take both Chinese culture and tourists into consideration. This paper first analyzes problems in the translation of tourism materials, and then, under the guidance of the Skopos Theory, proposes five translation strategies including literal translation, free translation, transliteration, transliteration plus explanation and annotation, with an aim to improving quality of tourism materials translations well as the development of China’s tourism industry. 摘要:作为一个旅游国家,中国有着不计其数绚丽多彩的自然景观。自然景观,文化古迹,历史景观已经吸引了许多来自国外的游客。因此旅游资料的翻译在旅游业占据了很重要的位置。为了吸引更多的外国游客到中国旅游,来推动中国文化和经济,旅游资料的英译要考虑游客和中国文化的传播。本篇论文分析了旅游资料出现误译的问题,并且在目的论的指导下提出了一些有用的翻译策略包括直译,意译,音译,音译加解释法和加注法来提高翻译的质量。本论文希望能给提高译文的质量带来一些帮助, 并且推动中国旅游业的发展。 关键词:旅游资料;翻译;目的论;翻译策略
