Abstract:Meta-cognitive strategy is the knowledge which is obtained in the process of cognition and it adjusts people’s linguistic performance through the planning, monitoring and evaluation and any other process. Through meta-cognitive strategy training, students can learn to analyze and solve problems independently and value their own progress and performance objectively. As the teaching of English writing is concerned, the traditional English writing teaching mainly concentrates on specific writing skills, including the choice of words and grammar structure which may results in the lack of the whole text planning and guidance of monitoring skills. Therefore, the effect of the English writing teaching is not obvious. How to effectively teach English writing has become a major issue for the general English teachers. Through analyzing the shortage of the high school English writing teaching and the positive guidance of meta-cognitive theory on English writing teaching, the author puts forward that teachers should make full use of the meta-cognitive strategies and cultivate students cognitive strategies during English writing teaching. Furthermore, the author analyzes the process of applying meta-cognitive strategies to English writing teaching in details. Key words: Meta-cognitive strategies; High school English; Writing teaching
摘要:元认知策略是从认知过程中获得的知识,并且它通过计划、监控和评价等过程来调整语言行为。通过进行元认知策略培训,学生在英语写作中学会独立的剖析和解决问题,客观的评价自己的进步和表现。对英语写作教学而言,传统的英语写作教学主要关注具体的写作技巧,包括词句的选择和语法结构,缺乏对整个语篇的策划和监控方面技能的指导,英语写作教学的效果并不很明显,如何有效地进行写作教学已成为广大英语教师面临的一个重大课题。本文通过分析高中英语写作教学中的不足,以及元认知理论对英语写作教学的积极的引导和促进作用,提出在写作教学过程中要充分运用和培养学生的元认知策略。此外,作者详细分析了元认知策略运用到英语写作教学中的过程。 关键词: 元认知策略;高中英语;写作教学
