Abstract:In English learning, listening training and development is the premise and foundation of learning English well, and it can improve the students’ language application ability. While, in English teaching, listening has been ignored. There is less listening course, so students can’t get enough listening practice in class. With the development of new course reformation, the new curriculum standards pay more and more attention to the high school English listening. This paper expounds from the following aspects: First of all, this paper expounds the status of high school English listening, let us know about the current high school students’ English listening level, and emphasize the importance of English listening; next, combine Chinese and western countries to analysis and expounds the causes of low high school students’ English listening level based on the students’ learning attitude, learning environment, cultural differences and education thinking mode and other aspect; at last, through the analysis of the above problems, introduce the key point of this article, that is listening strategies of senior high school English teaching and learning. To provide advice and assistance to high school students’ hearning study, thus more conducive to the improvement of high school students’ English hearing level.
