Abstract:Oral English learning has become the main trend in foreign language study. Speaking English well can make a good impression to listeners. It is one of the important aspects of English learning. Oral English includes various forms, such as formal talk, report, presentation, debate etc.. Conducting a successful oral English activity is an art that can largely promote the efficiency of foreign language learning. However, in traditional English classroom, English teaching has emphasized the language input and ignored the output, and few opportunities are given to non- English majors because of the few periods--only 4 periods a week. In this study, I first did a questionnaire investigation to look into the current situation concerning oral English learning of non-English majors, and then collected and analysized the related data, aiming to design the activities suitable for non-English majors from output theory. Accordingly, this paper focuses on two main activities: Group Discussion and Individual Speech, probing into the characteristics and application. I hope that this study will contribute to the progress non-English majors make in speaking English. 中文摘要:口语学习成为外语研究中的一大主流。优秀的英语口语可以给听者留下良好的第一印象,因而它是英语学习中一个重要的部分。口语包括多种形式,如正式谈话、报告、口头表述(口述)、辩论等。成功的口语活动是种艺术,它能较大程度地提高外语学习的效率。然而,由于大学英语课时较少(一周仅有4节课时),传统课堂,尤其是非英专业课程较多重视学生在口语方面的输入,忽视口语的输出,同时也较少给与学生开口讲英语的机会。 本次研究首先通过问卷的形式,调查目前非英专业口语学习的现状;然后收集相关数据,作出分析,旨在从输出原理探讨适合非英专业英语口语的活动设计。因此,本文针对性地提出两大主要活动形式:小组讨论和个人演讲,指出两种方法的特点与应用。希望本研究能为提高非英专业学生口语能力方面有所贡献。 关键词:英语口语活动; 输出原理; 非英专业; 小组讨论; 个人演讲
