Abstract:Seven books of Harry Potter mainly tell us a story about a wizard named Harry Potter who has spent seven years in Hogwarts to study magic and fight with Lord Voldemort. The thesis is to analyse the characterization of Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort by binary opposition used in Harry Potter series. The analysis is based on binary opposition of good and evil, aspiration and deprivation, existence and death, and so on. Rowling makes different characterization of Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort, and she builds their characters by using much binary opposition in describing the scene, the personality, the mind, and the fight. Analyse the characters of Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort that Rowling has built, and finding out something hidden but is what Rowling wants to show us in the Harry Potter series is the aim of the thesis. After the analysis of the binary opposition used between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort, the conclusion is that Harry Potter series is not only the children literature, but also a textbook that helps readers learn and grow. 摘要:《哈利波特》主要说了一名叫哈利波特的男巫在霍格沃兹的求学生涯,以及为了魔法界的和平和他的死敌伏地魔对抗的事情。 这篇论文通过二元对立理论分析哈利波特系列中的两个人物:哈利波特与伏地魔,主要运用善与恶,追求与失去,活与死等其他二元对立的方法分析他们这两个人物形象。在文中,罗琳对哈利波特与伏地魔的人物塑造极其不同,而且她还运用大量二元对立来描述场景,人物形象,人物内心活动及战争场面来烘托这两个人物形象。分析罗琳笔下哈利波特与伏地魔的形象,找出罗琳想要通过哈利波特系列来告诉我们的成长的道理。 通过分析哈利波特系列中哈利波特与伏地魔之间的二元对立,得出哈利波特系列并不单单是儿童文学,同样是一本教会我们成长的教科书。 关键词:哈利波特;伏地魔;二元对立;成长
