Abstract:Listening comprehension is a cognitive-related, complex mental activity, which involves many factors such as, language itself, cognitive activity, culture and social background knowledge and other aspects. English majors in Private institutions are always facing the problems while learning this subject. Factors influencing English listening comprehension can be classified into two types: linguistic factors and the non-linguistic factors.  With the purpose of improving the ability of students’ listening comprehension and the quality of listening,this paper intends to find out the current situation of English majors’ listening skill and try to quarry the factors influencing on it. In addition, this paper will focus on how these factors impact on comprehension. Meanwhile, respective solutions will be provided.

摘要:听力理解是一种与认知有关的、复杂的心智活动。它涉及语言、认知、文化、社会知识等各种因素。民办院校英语专业学生在听力学习过程中,常常碰到各种问题,而主要影响听力理解的因素有语言因素和非语言因素两大类。

为了提高学生的听力理解能力,本课题将试图找出英语专业学生的听力能力现状并找出影响因素,并作出重点分析,同时,提供相应的解决办法。

关键词:听力;因素;分析;解决方法

 

The methods of listening are varies. Our attention and memory will be tired to input information to influence on output. We should combine intensive listening and extensive listening together. Use different methods according the material. In this way, we can let our brain have moment relaxation.

English majors should strengthen the study of national culture background knowledge, to understand the differences between different countries and ethics initiative. Get rid of the interference of our own culture and try to understand their lives, ways of thinking through reading the news papers, listening to the English study.

  Whatever factors that influence listening, to keep a smooth mood is good to our comprehension. You can learn more with less effort if you have a peace of mind to do the listening. The attitude has equal importance to mood. Once you have correct attitude, you can lead the study to a right way.
