教材内容分析 There are four periods in Unit 6. This unit is the sixth unit in the first volume of Grade 7 Go for it, published by People’s Education Press. This unit concentrates on the communicative function of “talking about food preferences”, and takes “like” as an example to learn more about the usage of real verbs in the simple present tense. Based on this theme, the textbook presents pictures of different food to students, and students can use the new language points through different classroom activities. Section A allows students to use the verb “like” to ask others if they like some kinds of food, and learn the affirmative sentences, negative sentences and general questions in the present tense. In this section, it shows some common food to students, so that they can increase their vocabulary and recognize the target language in a natural context. Students also can initially understand the concepts of countable nouns and uncountable nouns. Section B introduces a topic about food preferences for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and shows more food nouns to students. This part helps students categorize new words by three meals. The reading material for this unit is mainly talking about athletes’ preferences for three meals a day. The while-reading activities help students develop their scanning abilities through completing the chart, which can help students grasp reading skills. After reading, students can learn to talk about their own and others’ favorite food for three meals through written English. This section mainly guides them to develop good eating habits and increase their awareness of cross-cultural communication.
