教材内容分析

This unit is the second unit in the first volume of Grade 7 Go for it. This unit mainly focuses on the communicative function of “introducing and identifying people ”, and  aims to learn the usage of demonstrative pronouns such as “this”,“these”,“that ”and “those”. In Section A, students are supposed to use who questions to affirm other people’s identities through sentences with subject pronouns.This part also presents some family members, so that students can understand how to say family members in English, thus further summarizing the rules of the formation and usages of demonstrative pronouns. Section B introduces the relationship between family members. Listening and speaking activities, reading activities and collaborative activities are totally bent on introducing one’s family. Students can elaborately talk about people’s family according to family photos, which reflects on the relationship in their family. The reading material for this unit is a family introduction with two family photos by Jenny. Jenny talks about her family members and her pet dog . The post-reading activities drive students to further comprehend the information in the text through answering questions, which can not only deepen the understanding of the article, but also prepare for the writing later. Therefore, the topic of "family" is close to the student's life, and it can easily lead students to become interested in learning English and participating in coherent activities.
