This unit is the third one in this textbook and it mainly focuses on “school things” and “identify the owner of an item”. Students can learn the basic sentence patterns for asking the owner of an item: “-Is this/that your/his/her pencil? -Yes, it is. It’s mine. -No, it isn’t. It’s his/hers. -Are these/those your/his/her pencils? -Yes, they are. They’re mine. -No, they aren’t. They’re his/hers.” Learn the usage of the general questions, the usage of nominal possessive pronouns and review the usage of adjective possessive pronouns; Consolidate the sentence patterns of spelling the words “-How do you spell it? –W-A-T-C-H.” learn the listening skills; Learn how to write Lost & Found. The learning content of this part is close to students' life, so it is very easy to stimulate students' initiative and interest in learning. Furthermore, students are guided to do all kinds of activities such as pair work, group work and role-play to learn the target language. Through this part of learning, students can use the target sentence patterns freely. At the same time, creating a situation that is close to the student's real life and combining the teaching contents can not only improve students' problem-solving ability, but also consolidate what they have learned.
