教材内容分析

This unit is one of the New Target English Series Go for it! Unit 3, volume 1, grade 7.  It plays the role of connecting the preceding and the following in the whole textbook. It is necessary to use the knowledge of the first two units as the basis, and draw out the vocabulary, sentence patterns and grammar of this unit through the way of answering the questions in a snap game, so as to form a teaching mode with students as the main body and teachers as the leading role. In addition, the sentence patterns in this unit are used as the foundation for the knowledge of grammar and sentence patterns in the following units, so as to help students build a complete knowledge framework and ensure the integrity, progressiveness and continuity of the cohesion of English courses.

With the topic of "school things",the main teaching objectives are to "identify the ownership of things","write Lost and Found" , "help students establish the correct values of being an honest person" and use the nominal possessive pronouns. The difficulty points are to summarize the sentence patterns used in "identifying the ownership of things" and to distinguish between the use of "nominal possessive pronouns" and "adjective possessive pronouns" .This part of the learning content is close to students' life and the topic is the most concerned about by students.So it is easy to stimulate students' interest in learning and help them to lay a good foundation of knowledge,form learning basic skills and good moral character.There are four periods in this unit.

 

单元教学目标

Knowledge objectives:

(1)Students can master the words: pencil, book, eraser, box, pencil box, schoolbag, dictionary, his, hers, mine, yours, teacher, excuse me, thank,about,what about,for,help, You're welcome,baseball, watch, computer game, ID card, notebook, ring, bag, library, lost, call,ask, some, found, classroom, e-mail.  

(2)Students can identify the ownership of school things in the following sentence patterns:

① — Excuse me. Is this/that…? — Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.It’s mine/yours/his/hers.... 

② — Excuse me. Are these/those…? — Yes, they are. / No, they aren't.They are mine/yours/his/hers/theirs....           

③ —What's this?—It's a watch.

—How do you spell it?—W­A­T­C­H.

(3)Students can use the  nominal possessive pronouns :mine, yours, his, hers,theirs... 

(4)Students can get the use of general questions.

(5)Students can understand the meaning of ‘Lost and Found’.

Ability objectives:

(1)Students can distinguish the usage between nominal possessive pronouns and adjective possessive pronouns .

(2)Students can improve their listening、reading and speaking ability.

Emotional objectives:

(1)Students can build the correct values of being an honest person.

(2)Students will have more confidence in learning English.

Teaching Important Points:

(1)Students can master the vocabulary of school things.

(3)Students can use nominal possessive pronouns in their communication.
