教材内容分析 This unit is the fourth unit in the first volume of Grade 7. It mainly focuses on the communicative function of “talking about the location of the things”, and takes the prepositions “in/ on/ under” as examples to further learn the usage of prepositions. In Section A, students are supposed to use the word like “Where” to ask the location of the things by learning general questions. And they can understand the structure of special questions. This part also presents some prepositions such as in/ on/ under and so on so that students can make conversations with their partners. Section B introduces more vocabularies about things. All the listening and speaking activities, reading activities and collaborative activities are centered on the location description of things. Students can further talk about places of different things, reflect on different tidying habits, and explore the issue of forming a good habit of life. The reading material of this unit is a passage about two different girls- one’s room is tidy while the other is not. The elder sister introduces that her room is tidy for she puts all her things in order. However, her little sister Gina is not tidy. The post-reading activities enable students to reproduce the information in the text through the mind map written on the blackboard, which can not only deepen the understanding of the article, but also prepare for the writing later. The topic of “talking about location of things” is close to students’ life, and it can easily arouse students’ interest in learning and make them be willing to participate in relevant activities. At the same time, students can form a good habit of putting things clean, tidy and reasonable.
