Abstract:This paper mainly explores the translation in Empresses in the Palace. Today, with the increasing of comfortable housing project and international prestige, more and more foreign language TV programs and movies come to China. At the same time,there are more and more Chinese works spreading overseas. Lots of movies have the Chinese and English subtitles. It is convenient for people from different countries to learn multiculturalism. Different countries have different traditional culture. And they have their own charming features of language. In Chinese traditional culture, both the idiom and the ancient poem are the problem for translators. And in Empresses in the Palace, as a classical ancient TV play, there are a great number of idioms and ancient poems. By using A Brief Analysis on the Subtitle Translation Empresses in the Palace from the Perspective of Aim Theory, we can find out some defects when we enjoy the art of translation. During this process, we can realize the work of translation has still a long way to walk so that we should be strict with ourselves in the work and study. And we should try our best to make the translation close to the original one.
