Abstract: The rhetorical device parody is largely employed in advertising English by imitating the materials that are well known to the public while modifying certain elements such as lexicon, phrases, sentences and discourses and involving associations with product brands and qualities to the effect in which products concerned is well publicized. This paper aims to study the features, types, translations, functions of parody in advertisements, thus letting the English learners have a further understanding of parody. Generally speaking, parody in advertisement English is deemed to embody such features as eye-catching, flexible, and vivid. Key words: advertising; English; parody; translation
