摘要：习语是人类智慧的结晶。习语中包含许多信息，如历史、地理、文化、宗教信仰和思维方式，它们具有极其丰富的文化内涵和哲学思想。对影视作品《破产姐妹》中习语的研究，发现本剧中的习语使用包涵以下几个特色：社会文化性、生动比喻性、民族历史性、文学艺术性。不同经历、不同社会阶层的人使用习语可以反映出习语的社会文化特性，在人们言语交际的过程中，双方必须遵循一定的语言交际原则，才能达到特定的交际目的，而当人们使用习语偏离这一原则时，就达到了一种美式幽默的效果。同时本剧大量使用了具有生动比喻性的习语，说话人使用夸张或反讽的修辞手法说一些与事实不符的话，或者使用习语故意误解说话人的意思，从而让观众感到幽默。本剧还使用语言表达技巧去体现习语的文学艺术性。与他人的语言交流过程中需要有一个双方共同的前提，如果不遵循这种文学逻辑就容易造成歧义，产生幽默效果。研究电影和电视作品中的英语习语。通过对《破产姐妹》中的习语研究，有助于人们更好地理解电影的内容，深入地体会美国人的幽默原则，加深人们对英语国家文化特色的理解。
