摘要： 日常生活中普遍存在的隐喻与日常生活息息相关。它是语言和思维的基础。外语教学中最重要的是培养学生运用语言进行思考的能力。大多数学生在学习外语时更倾向于用母语思维来理解新的语言，他们缺乏使用目标语言思考的能力。这会给学生造成很大的障碍，影响到目标语言的学习。本文从隐喻入手，探讨隐喻思维的特点以及隐喻思维在英语阅读理解中的作用。
