摘要：本文以二元对立为理论框架，从《好人难寻》一书中老祖母的形象分析入手，研究主角完成灵魂救赎的全过程。首先论文探究了老祖母的人性特征，揭示了其邪恶多于善良的伪善面目；其次，老祖母的伪善作为最大的罪恶，导致了人物的悲剧性大于喜剧性，由喜转悲预示了老祖母的死亡结局；但死亡并不一定带来救赎，从基督教的“原罪观”来看，老祖母的原罪以及对生的渴望是成就有意义的死亡的必要条件。另外，论文将结合“救赎观”来还原老祖母获得灵魂救赎的全过程，揭示老祖母身上二元对立的矛盾表现，即善良与邪恶，喜剧性与悲剧性，死亡与救赎之间的冲突。并同时分析了老祖母完成灵魂救赎的起因、经过、结果。
