摘要：在经济高速发展的今天，社会对英语口语能力的要求日益提高。由于我国应试教育的影响，学生们注重语言知识的学习，却忽略口语能力的培养。许多大学生经过了若干年的英语学习，即使对英语语言知识掌握得十分牢固，口语表达能力却参差不齐。因此，如何改善并培养非英语专业大学生英语口语表达能力以适应社会的需求就尤为重要。本研究为了提高非英语专业大学生的口语技能，以四川师范大学非英语专业的学生为研究对象，开展了一系列的研究：1、课堂观察。通过英语课堂，了解学生们的口语基础和表达能力。2、访谈。通过对学生的随机访谈，进一步了解英语口语表达障碍。3、问卷调查。从老师和学生两个角度了解学生口语表达障碍和原因。通过研究发现非英语专业学生英语口语障碍主要有：词汇量较少、语法基础薄弱、语音语调不标准、不自信、对英语国家文化不了解。而造成这些障碍的原因分为主观原因和客观原因:主观原因有学生的学习兴趣和动机、学生的心理因素；客观原因包含缺乏语言学习的环境、传统的教学模式、较少的英语口语测试、学校对学生的英语口语培养不重视等。本文最后从学校等教育部门、老师、学生三个角度提出了如何改善并提高非英语专业大学生英语口语表达能力的建议。
