Abstract:Movie name is the inspissations and soul of a movie, decide whether a good film can succeed to open the domestic and international market, and the key to create the new film record. Apart from conveying the meaning of the film, the movie name translation also intends to catch the audiences' eyes and increase box office revenue. Therefore, the technique of movie name translation directly affects the film's prospects in the film market. Mr. Yanfu, father of translation, said that kind of words as early as end of 19 centuries:" Translation has three difficulties: they are “faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance.” The author attempts the movie name translation technique from the market and the general public psychological perspective. Here, this thesis concerns on different style of the translation methods. In addition to literal translation and free translation, we also should take into account film background, culture and significance, flexible use transliteration, the combination of literal translation and transliteration, the combination of transliteration and free translation and the combination of literal translation and free translation or other methods to attract the audience. Certainly, I don't mean that literal translation and free translation are nothing to do with movie name translation, some films, we still need to translate them by using these two methods.

中文摘要:电影片名，是一部电影的浓缩和灵魂所在，决定一部好的影片是否能成功打开国内外市场，创造新的票房纪录的关键。电影片名的翻译除了要传达影片的意思外，更多的是吸引观众的眼球，引起他们对影片的兴趣，增加票房收入。因此，电影片名翻译的技巧，直接影响到影片在电影市场上的前景。所以，电影片名的翻译，对影片本身和投资者来说，都至关重要。翻译前辈严复早在十九世纪末就提出过：“译事三难：信、达、雅。”本文作者尝试从市场化与大众心理视角，对电影片名的翻译技巧进行了初探。这里，本文关注了风格各异的翻译方法。除了直译和意译外，我们还应该结合影片本身的背景，文化和意义等，灵活运用音译，直译与意译结合，音译和意译结合，音译和直译结合等方法，力求让片名翻译到最地道，最能吸引人。当然，并不是说直译和意译对电影片名翻译没有帮助，有些电影，还是只有直译或者意译才能翻译出来。
