Abstract: Tony Morrison is the first Afro-American woman writer who wins the Nobel Prize for Literature. The Bluest Eye, as her debut novel, introduces a story mainly about a miserable fate of a black girl called Pecola. It focuses on the cultural identity of the blacks in the white culture background. By analyzing several major black characters in the novel, the thesis tends to show the different attitudes taken by the blacks towards their cultural identity. The thesis shows that some blacks gradually get lost in the white culture, some stick to their own culture, and some make compatibility between the white culture and the black one. Furthermore, it also draws a conclusion that in the United States where the white culture dominates the whole society, the black people should try to keep their cultural identity, or the black culture will die. 摘要: 托尼·莫里森是第一位获得诺贝尔文学奖的非裔美国女作家。《最蓝的眼睛》作为其处女作,通过讲述年仅12岁的黑人少女佩科拉的悲惨命运,关注了在白人文化背景下的黑人文化身份问题。本文将从分析小说的几位主要黑人人物入手,探讨黑人对待黑人文化身份的不同态度,看到在白人文化的冲击下,有些黑人渐渐迷失自我,有些则坚守自己的文化,有些则兼容两者。从而揭示了白人文化占统治地位的美国,如果黑人民族一贯地盲从或摒弃自己的文化传统,那么最终的结果只能是迷失、垮掉从而消亡。 关键词:《最蓝的眼睛》;托尼·莫里森;黑人;文化身份 |
