Abstract:Under the guidance of Eugene Nida’s Functional Equivalence theory, this paper analyzes the mistranslation of public signs in major scenic spots of Huai’an in terms of accuracy, briefness, politeness, and other principles, laying out the mistranslations from five aspects, and then attaching importance to the English version of public signs from the five perspectives.
