Abstract
This article mainly studies how to express the intention of English preposition in Chinese translation. But Chinese and English are two completely different languages. There is a common attribute and a great difference between the mother tongue and the target language in the translation. Language barriers and gaps are caused because of not understanding these common and differences, the translation of prepositions is also like this. Chinese belongs to the Sino-Tibetan language system, and English belongs to the Latin language system. The function and frequency of Prepositions both in English and Chinese are used extremely asymmetric. Because the change of noun and the adjective in English almost disappeared, mostly, the preposition bear the function that shows the relationship between words and the phrase. The noun that following the Preposition can constitute a prepositional phrase with other words. The prepositional phrase can play the role of all kinds of elements, mainly attributive and adverbial. During the process of English translation, English and Chinese prepositions can not be fully matched. So we need to use certain translation skills to complete the conversion, or directly omit the preposition that did not have any meaning..
