Abstract
The Great Gatsby, widely regarded as the most important masterpiece of F. Scott. Fitzgerald, has won the praise since its publication. It is a story about Gatsby and his pursuit for the “American dreams”. This article try to dig out the symbolism significance of Doctor T.J. Eckleburg in this novel. And it will be departed into three levels, from the views of characters, story scenes, and image significance of the eyes, to have the conclusion about how the author try to imply by this eyes and you will know about how this eyes become the eyes in that year of America.
