Abstract
From the perspective of the weak development of oral communicative competence for primary school students, the phenomenon called “dumb English” has been put forward at the beginning of the study, and then the reasons why this phenomenon exists are analyzed from teachers’ attitude, family environment and personal factors. According to these causes, a series of effective means have been put forward in the real teaching situation in Chinese class. First of all, creating an authentic environment is the fundamental part. Secondly, it is crucial to stimulate students’ interests in speaking English by effective activities. Last but not least, family environment also plays an important role, so the cooperation with family education is a necessary part.
