Abstract
Mrs. Zhao, an English teacher in No. 29 Middle School in Nanjing, is famous for her success in English teaching. Her success in teaching and management is not due to appropriate application of theories, but because of her unique system of teaching and management. This dissertation is a case study based on Mrs. Zhao’s English teaching and management, and it is combined with current relevant theoretical achievements. It uncovers current English teaching in a middle school by describing and analyzing Mrs. Zhao’s case from three angles: English teaching, class management and evaluation of students’ learning.
