Abstract
Reading is an effective way of people to acquire information and knowledge, and it’s also a useful means of getting input in English learning. In order to adapt to the new society and new development of requirements, students should have good reading ability. Reading strategies help students read effectively and increase their reading ability. During the teaching period, teachers should provide students with instructions in reading strategy to stimulate their interests in reading,thus cultivate their good reading habits. This dissertation based on the related reading strategies, focuses on training students’ basic reading strategies in the process of English teaching and directing students to use proper strategies in English reading. This dissertation includes five chapters:introduction, literature review, the training of reading strategy, discussions and problems and conclusion.
