Abstract
This dissertation mainly discusses phonics and its use in primary school English teaching. First this article introduces the background and the significance of phonics. Then this article gives a definition of phonics and talks about the opinions home and abroad. In addition, this paper analyzes the advantages and the disadvantages of using phonics. Finally, the paper elaborates how to apply phonics in the real English classroom teaching from the four aspects, which is also the most important part. This dissertation aims to help primary school English teachers to better understand and employ phonics.
