Abstract
The fundamental purpose of foreign language teaching is to achieve intercultural communication, that is, to communicate with people of different cultural backgrounds. With the advent of the era of globalization, cross-cultural communication is more and more frequent. How to cultivate students’ intercultural communicative competence in oral English teaching in junior high school has become an urgent problem to solve in foreign language teaching. This paper emphasizes the necessity of cultivating intercultural communicative competence in junior middle school oral English teaching, and analyzes the factors that affect the cultivation of intercultural communicative competence from the perspective of students and teachers. At last, the author provides some useful teaching ideas and methods for English teachers.
