Abstract

As a branch of applied translation, business contract translation has been explored by many scholars from different perspectives, including stylistics, pragmatics and Functional Equivalence theory. However, there are few studies on business contract translation from the standpoint of Skopos theory. By combing the recent studies of business contract translation and combining the translation guidelines of business contract translation, this thesis will discuss the application of Skopos theory in business contract translation, which will take Skopos theory as the theoretical support and be supplemented by a number of business contract translation examples for further explanation, in order to provide some guidance for future research on the translation strategies of a variety of concrete business contracts.
