Abstract:Pricing strategy is very important for a manufacturer during a new product’s introduction to the market. It will influence the product’s acceptance by consumers, the speed its competitors enter the market, and the total profits. Many companies gain high profits by skim pricing. However, not all of them are successful. On the contrary, some companies gain high profits by penetrating pricing, such as Huawei Technology Incorporated. It adopted market penetrating pricing strategy. The prices of its products started out very low. When many customers started using them, their prices continued to climb. Because the quality of its products is good, and the customer demand for them is good. Penetrating pricing can increase sales volume. For the new established electronic businesses there is no exception. The dissertation concentrates on the great influence of penetrating pricing on the new established electronic businesses. This dissertation will discuss the effects of penetrating pricing strategy, especially, how to optimize a given penetrating pricing strategy.
