教材内容分析 Teenage Life, as the first unit of grade one, the theme narrates the everyday life of adolescent. As teenagers, students are facing a lot of challenges and confusion. So this unit not solely resonates with students, but also assists them to learn to dope out solutions. Firstly, vocabulary parts mainly focuses on learning new words and phrases from reading part, like “suitable”, “responsible”... . It carries considerable significance to the cultivation of students’ reading competence and lays a solid foundation for the basic appreciation of languages beauty, which not only deepen the understanding of the article, but get ready for the writing later. Secondly, the reading material for this unit is an autobiographical essays. In this part, students can learn about the lives of first-year senior high school students in other countries, which activates students’ own knowledge about education in China and foreign countries, and give them a chance to express themselves. Next, writing part presents guidance on how to face the challenges of growth by giving advice to each other. In this period, students are supposed to find out what their challenges are and figure out how to crack the challenges to make themselves better. Moreover, school work and study are not ignored, extra-curricular activities such as clubs, sports team, and camps are also introduced in order to broaden students’ horizons beyond the classroom, which can be found in the part of listening and speaking. Hence, unit one adjoins to the everyday lives of adolescent and keep students seeing the lives of someone else. It is hoped that students can use the information in this unit to reflect upon their own lives.
