This unit is the eleventh unit of Grade 5. This unit continues discussing the weather, clothes and activities. Students can understand and express how to choose clothes and activities in different weather conditions. This topic is often talked about in daily life, and students are also interested in it. They are willing to apply what they have learned in real situations. This unit is divided into four periods. The first period is about “Let’s play” and “Read and write” parts. This period provides some new words of clothes and sentence patterns. The second period includes “Listen and say” and “Listen, color and match” parts, which focus on listening. “Read, think and answer” and “Think and give your idea” parts make up the third period. This period centers on reading the passage about Xinjiang. The fourth period is about “Listen and read” and “Reward time” parts, which is to make students understand the pronunciation rules of letter combination “oo.” By study of this unit, students can master the new words and sentence patterns, and through listening, speaking, writing and reading activities, students can talk with others fluently and confidently about the topic of this unit.
