教材内容分析

The teaching content is from Unit 4, Volume 1, Grade 8 of the textbook Go For It by People’s Education Press. This unit mainly focuses on the communicative function “discussing preferences” and “making comparisons”. In Section A, students are introduced to the topic of "choosing the movie theater" through some pictures about the movie theater. In this part, students should have a preliminary understanding of the grammar-Superlative Degree and master a certain number of descriptive vocabulary through two periods: grammar and listening class. Section B introduces more usage of Superlative Degree. Reading and writing activities are both centered on Superlative Degree. The reading material for this unit is an article about “talent show”, a project which introduces some common people who realize their dream through effort. So students can not only further learn the usage of Superlative Degree, but also learn to try their best to realize their own dream. The writing part of this unit requires students to try to write something by using Superlative Degree according to the unit content. The teacher should focus on training students' ability of analyzing the structure of the article and imitating the article to write by themselves. The teaching important points in learning for students is the superlative forms of adjectives and adverbs and doing a prediction in learning. The difficult points of this unit is that students can use Superlative Degree correctly.
