教材内容分析

This unit is the fifth unit of Junior High School English Book for Grade 8, published by the People’s Education press. It mainly focuses on the communicative function of “talking about the preferences and making plans”, and aims to enable students to master the usage of infinitives as objects. It concludes listening and speaking activities, reading activities and collaborative activities. In section A, students are supposed to master the names of various TV programs and learn to talk about if they like TV shows and why they like them. Section B introduces some new adjectives which students should master their basic usage. By listening activities, students are trained to accurately identify the key words. As for reading activities, it shows the authentic English speaking and makes full use of the knowledge learned in this lesson to describe students’ favorite cartoon characters. Through all-round practice and elaborate teaching designs，students’ interest in learning can be easily aroused and they will be willing to participate in class activities.
