Abstract: The Kitchen God’s Wife is written by Amy Tan, who is a Chinese-American author. In this novel, she exposes the oppression suffered by Chinese women, which is rooted in the traditional patriarchal culture, and their resistance, by telling a story about a miserable marriage of a Chinese woman in war times. This article aims to analyze the feminist connotations embodied in the novel from the angles of narrative techniques and female images.
