Abstract: Doris Lessing, the most prolific English writer, has attracted increasing critical attention in the literary world because of the publication of The Golden Notebook in 1962. This paper aims to interpret The Golden Notebook from the perspective of feminism. Based on the special living experience of Doris Lessing and feminism in her works, the paper attempts to focus on illustrating the feminism in Lessing’s The Golden Notebook, analyzing the free women’s pursuit of freedom and the way they get over the difficulties they meet in the process of searching for freedom as well. Finally the paper draws a conclusion that a new model should be set up through understanding to achieve a more harmonious bisexual relationship between men and women.
