Abstract
With the development of economy, business English contract translation has become an indispensable part of in the economic life. However, there are all kinds of business English contract translations. Some of them are very good, while others are not. Language is the carrier of culture, and due to cultural differences, language conversion also appears somewhat to be restricted. The contract text, as a carrier of the legally binding materials, insists on greatly conveying the meaning or even the form in the conversion. This thesis, on the basis of the theory of dynamic equivalence, and from the linguistic features of business English contract and form characteristics, investigates the feasibility of the theory of dynamic equivalence in English contract translation, and proposes the corresponding translation strategies. Therefore, the purpose of translation, on the one hand, is being faithful to the original, and on the other hand must adjust because of the difference between language and culture, so the translated text can be more in line with the requirements of the reader’s expectation and the translation function. Key words: Nida; dynamic equivalence; business English contracts; translation strategies
