Abstract
This paper holds that students' English reading ability is influenced by psychological factors, knowledge factors, language factors and strategy factors. It is based on information processing theory and tries to improve students' English reading ability . Then it puts forward four strategies for improving the students' English reading ability including Introducing background information, carrying out integrated reading activities, focusing on explaining and performing output practice . Finally, in order to guide students to read and help students improve their English reading ability, we will put these four strategies into practice.
