ABSTRACT
Speaking ability is one of the basic language skills earliest acquired by the language users, which has extremely important influence on learners. English, as a foreign language, lacks real using environment in China. Many English majors have difficulty in oral English learning. In accordance with questionnaire survey of 80 English major students in different grades in Foreign Language School of Jiangsu University, this paper analyzes the main factors affecting students' oral English ability development, including the learners’ gender, learning environment, cultural background and so on. Based on these analysis, the paper puts forward some concrete and feasible solution in order to improve English learners' oral English ability and the effect of English teaching, thus to improve learners' comprehensive language using ability.
