This unit is from Go for it. "When is your birthday? It is the core topic of this unit: talking about people's birth date, mainly learning the formation of ordinal number word and the use of ordinal number word to express the method of date, special questions to ask the date and the formation and the usage of the possessive noun. 

This unit is divided into three parts altogether: Section A, Section B and Self-check. 

Section A is the most important part of the unit and the core teaching content. Students should learn more about birthdays by talking about their birthdays, classmates' birthdays and family members' birthdays. Students should remember their parents' birthdays and express their love for them. So Section A plays an important role in this unit and future English learning. 

Section B introduces more dates about school activities. Listening and speaking activities, reading activities and collaborative activities are all centered on dates. Students can further talk about dates for different things, reflect on different culture. Students should learn to read other people's calendars and talk to each other about their schedules. This can promote understanding and friendship among classmates, and learn to pay attention to the feelings of others in English communication. Make students learn to arrange their own schedule, develop a regular life and good study habits.
