教材内容分析

 This unit is the second unit of the first volume for the Senior 1 students. The topic context of this unit is mainly “human and ego”. The main context of this unit focuses on learning and exploring English. This unit consists of six parts, Starting out, Understanding ideas,Using language, Developing ideas, Presenting ideas, Reflection.

     The first part, starting out, begins with an introduction to the history of English to activate students existing knowledge of language and background. Paving the way for the whole unit to learn. 

     The second part, understanding ideas, a passage reflecting the theme of this unit, the passage presents and evaluates the crazy phenomenon that confuses learners in English humorously and thus reflects the interesting, diversity and creativity of English. 

     The third part, using language, consists of grammar and vocabulary. The grammar mainly refers to word formation and the part of vocabulary is mainly about the differences on spelling between British and American English to help students understand the characteristics of two forms of English. 

     The fourth part,developing ideas, a thematic discussion reflecting the theme from another perspective. The passage introduces the confusion and misunderstanding encountered by the four learners during their study. Through learning this section, students enable deepen their understanding of English diversity and creativity. Have a preliminary grasp of the content and stylistic features and writing techniques. 

     The fifth part, presenting ideas, students can expound their English learning methods, so that they can review and grasp what they learned. Students can use their ability comprehensively in real situations. By learning this period, students can self-reflection and complete the transfer and innovation of what you have learned.

     The last part, reflection, students can evaluate and analyze their learning behaviors and effects before the end of this unit. The teacher leads students to review the whole unit process, stimulate students' learning interest, arouse students' thinking about the relationship between English and social economic and culture development, enhancing intercultural understanding of language learning and language phenomena reflect and improve learning methods. This unit is divided into five periods to learn.

 

单元重点、难点

Teaching important points:

1.To master the new words and expressions, distinguish between British English and American English.

2.Understand the main idea of the article and the author's intention.

3.To use word formation to understand newly words correctly.

4.Stimulate students' interest and establishing a Correct View of learning.

Teaching difficult points:

1.Improve students' reading ability and oral ability.

2.Improve students' comprehensive ability of language use.

3.Encourage students to have confidence in learning English.
